- Outline key responsibilities ie., Marshall’s, coxswain, equipment and logsheet responsibilities
- Explain any known problems eg, sounder nor working
- Buddy Pairings and order of diving
- Explain location of First Aid equipment and oxygen equipment
- Anyone unfit?
- Give weather report
- Currents and slack water timings
- Expected visibility and depth, surface conditions
- Air refills - who, when, where
- Keys
- Toilets
- Arrangements for lunch
- Timing critical so be ready
- Finishing time
- SMB policy
- Backup plan
Dive Objectives
- Dive 1 - Explain:
- Objective
- Location, transits, bearings
- Timings, maximum dive times, expected currents, (speed and
direction) slack water, sea state
- Type of dive, wreck details
- Particular dangers - eg, entanglement, netting,
- Expected depth and visibility
- Expected decompression stops
- Equipment requirements, eg, SMBs, compass, knives
- Repeat for dive 2 & 3
