Key Points

Always breath out slowly, good grip on shared regulator, speed of response, offer regulator at eye level, hold regulator properly, good grip on buddy, work in buddy pairs. Make reassuring eye contact.

  1. Demonstrate switching to own octopus and back and emphasise blow purging.
  2. Students repeat.
  3. Demonstrate donating, with all students, sharing instructors octopus with out-of-air Student - hold tank valve, position, get receiver to grip regulator and grip donor, ensure purge button is free. Offer regulator at eye level (all students will have experienced and seen receiving).
  4. Demonstrate receiving with all students (all students will have experienced and seen donating).
  5. Students repeat donating air to buddy.
  6. Swap and repeat.

Deep

  1. Repeat 3 - Students repeat.
  2. Repeat 4 - Students repeat.
  3. Demonstrate air sharing ascent - Good grip, breathe normally.
  4. Students repeat.
