Key Points

Always breath out, relax, emphasise regulator clearing. Be ready with instructor’s octopus in case of difficulty. The sweep must be wide to capture regulator hose.

  1. Demonstrate removing regulator, refitting and clearing. (Emphasise taking breath, bubbles and purging).
  2. Students repeat.
  3. Demonstrate removing regulator at arms length, refitting and clearing.
  4. Students repeat.
  5. Demonstrate
    1. Step 1 - take breath
    2. Step 2 - remove and drop regulator.
    3. Step 3 - breathe out slowly.
    4. Step 4 - sweep back and out - touch outside of right thigh and base of tank
    5. Step 5 - continue wide sweep, refit and clear.
    6. Students repeat.

Deep

  1. Repeat steps 1 - 5.
