A little bit about UKDivers, diving and the author.
Introduction
Welcome to UKdivers.net. This site has been designed with one thing in mind: information, diving information to be more precise. As any diver will tell you there is a lifetime of learning for anyone taking up the sport and this site aims to deliver a part of that. Much of this Information you won't find in text books and it will be enhanced by animated graphics, video clips, sounds and online quizzes etc.
Diving is one of those sports that has everything: beauty; danger; skills; creatures; academia, weightlessness; great characters and it gets you to some fascinating parts of the world. If you haven't tried it, do so, as soon as you can. It is simply sensational.

About the Author
Mike started diving shortly after getting married in the Dominican Republic back in 1996, one PADI open water course and that was it, hooked, soggy and broke.. Since then, Mike has been spent most of his free time undertaking diving activities of one sort or another including one year as the clubs training officerand another as Diving Officer. His diving has taken him all over the UK, Cyprus, Malta, Caribbean, Greece and the Red Sea. Mike's only regret is that he didn't discover the sport much earlier in his life.
Mike, pictured here, is a BSAC Advanced Diver, Advanced Instructor and IANTD Nitrox Instructor and a member of the Hazel Grove Diving Club in Stockport, a popular and friendly club. Other interests include skiing and computing.
